Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, with a couple of changes.
Finlay was the first person I met when I got off the plane in Jackson Hole. We shared a cab with Nick and Add. Our cab driver, George, informed us of the local history of Jackson Hole and Jackson. George wants to debate Gerry on how best to preserve our environment. If you are ever in Jackson Hole give George call for a great ride and some interesting conversation. Finlay and I went to the courthouse to see how things are done in this part of the country. We met a newspaper reporter who informed us that the big case of the day involved a man accused of stealing a car and leading the police on a chase. The arraignment was interesting. Longest arraignment I have ever seen. It was more like a plea hearing.
On any given day you could find people walking from the "cookhouse" to the "Big Barn."
Many things happened in this barn.
Marina does death penalty work in TX. She is a very caring, sensitive and passionate person. We climbed the mountain together, we own the dubious
distinction of being the last two to make it to the top, BUT we did make. I am glad I met you Marina and I hope to team up with you on a few death penalty cases!
Did anyone ever see Mark actually do laundry????
Doc learned how to do laundry while at the ranch. He said he liked it so much that when he went home he was going to
relieve his bride of all laundry duty!
Every morning around 6 am people would pile into cars and drive to the base of this particular mountain. I never did find out the name of this mountain, a mountain that caused me so much pain, agony and
embarrassment. It is rumored that this trek was 2 miles up and 2 miles down with an elevation change of 1200 ft. Some people ran up that mountain on a regular basis, others walked and some of us struggled. Some made it on the first day and some took 4 days, but I am told that its not where you start but where you finish that counts.
Greg was one of those hard core regulars that made it to the top on a routine basis. I really enjoyed his company.
Just when you think you had the top in sight... you soon discover that this view is very deceiving. They call the last tree you can see on the left the "Lying Bi_ _ ch Tree." It appears that this tree is close to the top but when you get there you realize you have been deceived.
Milton got a birthday present when Andy did her impersonation of Marilyn Monroe singing happy birthday to JFK. If you closed your eyes you would think Marilyn was actually there singing.
Cathy!!!! Miss talking to you.
Nga (pronounced Na as in the song Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye by Steam) is pregnant with her first child, due in September. Nga practices law in CA with her husband. Nga has a gentle, kind and compassionate spirit, she is a great person to be around. This picture was taken on one of our days off (we had a whole 2 days off during the course) at the Grand Teton National Park. Greg was kind enough to drive Nga, Marina and me. I got sick and spent most of the day in some lodge near a bathroom, good news for me, bad news for the tourist.
Well I finally made it to the top. Took 4 tries but I made it. Glad you were there to share it with me Greg.
I guess we wanted to make sure we had a shot at both sides or something.
Jim from TX and Julian from CA encouraging her on.
Jim, Marina, Katie and Julian
WE MADE IT!!! May have taken us awhile but we did do it.
Nick is expecting a baby boy in November. Congrats Nick! Nick reminded me
of my brother.
Eric from WY; Meg and Finlay lending a hand.
In the beginning I think my
roommate talked to the animals more than he talked to me. I am not sure if he was upset at my snoring. According to him the fan, the ear plugs and the sound machine were not enough to drown out my snoring. Of course I deny that I snore, after all I have never heard myself snoring and my alleged snoring has never kept me up at night.
People ask me if Gerry took an active role in the teaching process at the college. My reply is usually, yes he taught some classes in the "Big Barn" but there were others who taught just as well, both staff and students. I learned
a lot from Gerry but I also learned a lot, if not more, from some of the staff and students. There were
many, many talented people both professionally and personally from all
over the country.
Speaking of talented people.
More talent. I wish we had more time together Toki, I am sure there is
much more I can learn from you.
Johnny "Z" from OK. Johnny reminded me of one of my old h.s. football coaches. I learned
a lot from Johnny "Z" and I am sure I can learn a lot more from him. Blueberry Pies and the woman at the
convenience store, two great stories. Thanks Johnny. I cannot wait to use
them.
I still can't
believe you fit into one of my shirts, must have stretched it or something.
Doesn't he look "bigger" than me.
Rafe tried out for a part in the new Blues Brother movie but I hear they are waiting on an offer to Chris Trundy.
After graduation we danced with some local Indians.
I wish they had stayed longer, it was a good time, too short but it was good.
